March 15, 2011
Palermo. The investigation on regional licensing for photovoltaic systems.

The investigating magistrate in Palermo, Michael Alaimo, has ordered the remand in prison for the regional member of the Democratic Party Gaspare Vitrano, 49, who was arrested two days ago in flagrante delicto (while pocketing a bribe from a businessman of 10 thousand euro PV) with charges of extortion.
The handcuffs are taken for the engineer Pierre Ingrassia who acted as mediator between the employer and the politician who denounced pay because otherwise "no longer worked." Under review by the judiciary also the position of deputy Syracuse, former Democratic Party, Mario Bonomo.
With a respectable pedigree, Gaspare Vitrano began his political career as a regional official and in 2001 was elected to the Ars Margherita and then was re-elected in subsequent legislatures in the ranks of the Democratic Party and is now deputy and member of the Committee on Economic Development.
The politician was immediately suspended from the party that is ARSIA.
Vitrano was caught in the center, in Palermo, with a wad of money (10 thousand euro note) that would have been supplied by a contractor to release funding for its photovoltaic systems.
The investigation was launched by the complaint of the entrepreneur is exasperated by the difficulties encountered in obtaining from the region autorizzazzioni to start a solar power system.
"Thursday, February 24, I received a call on my cell phone: it was the engineer Pierre Ingrassia, asking me for a meeting to discuss some issues concerning the construction of photovoltaic Roccamena and Frant, managed by my company," said the farmer to Squad. And just on systems and francophone would Roccamena intervened Vitrano.
At the center of investigations interceptions Ingrassia engineer who brought to light a true "system of bribes" and "regional tariff" so that the judges have already expanded their field of investigation.

Meanwhile, confidentiality of the papers seized yesterday in the office of the Ars Vitrano. The prosecutors have also acquired documents on photovoltaic systems have already been authorized.

The story of the deputy Vitrano is yet another example of a corrupt system in which the crooks manage to enrich themselves through an area such as the energy sources that can provide an opportunity for economic growth to Sicily.
